BOOKS

In the Library of Congress call number system most biblical materials are found in the call number area starting "BS."  Books on the Bible, as a whole, are filed first, (BS1-BS680) followed by books on the Old Testament (BS701-BS1830) and then books on the New Testament (BS1901-BS2990).

To locate scripture-related materials in our catalog, try subject headings like:

Bible OT [name of book] exs.: Bible OT Psalms; Bible OT Prophets
Bible NT [name of book] exs: Bible NT Mark; Bible NT Epistles of Paul--Criticism and interpretation

You can also try other subject headings, if, for example, you are researching a theme:

Women in the Bible
Sin - Biblical teaching; Love - Biblical teaching; etc., (follows the format:  Subject - Biblical teaching)
Jesus Christ - Parables
Wisdom literature
Ethics in the Bible
Law and gospel
Bible OT Theology
